Independent Study

I'm taking an independent study this semester and I'll be doing another one next semester as well. I've really come to like the idea of this type of class, where the student has the freedom to make their own course without the restrictions of specific assignments.

For the most part, I don't mind most of my classes, but their are always certain aspects or assignments that I know will move me away from what I want to get out of the class. I usually end up getting really motivated for one particular assignment, and then find another to be somewhat of a waste of time.

With the independent study, I have the ability to choose exactly what I want to get out of the course, without being held back by one or two assignments that I may not be motivated by.

I am kind of hoping that work will be more like independent study..
