About Career Blog

Another Economic Crisis?

It has come to my attention that many of my friends are frustrated with their jobs and careers, but are having a hard time admitting it. While the financial situation across America has been grim for the past several months, many employees are suffering themselves from a lack of raises and promotions.

While on the one hand, these workers would like to speak up and ask for their expected or scheduled salary increases, there is a large chance of rejection. They also may feel selfish for wanting more, while the economy continues to struggle.

The fact of the matter is though, that some employees are drawn to certain companies or jobs because of the "promise" of a scheduled pay raise or performance review that could lead to a promotion. When that promise is not fulfilled, it can be frustrating to continue working just as hard without additional financial compensation.

My hope is that slowly but surely, we will all be able to get back on our feet. Money is something that even the "rich" fret over, simply because there never seems to be enough to sustain our desired lifestyles. In the meantime, my advice to those frustrated with a situation like this is to tough it out and eventually, they will hopefully be rewarded.

Publish Your Thoughts, Collect Paycheck. Rinse, Repeat.

The rise in blogs has been astronomical over the past decade or so, thanks in large part to the convenience and easy access of the internet.  I started blogging in my sophomore year of high school for myself... I updated my friends about my thoughts, joys, frustrations, etc. and they would comment back with their own mature outlook on the situation at hand.

When I first heard about blogging for money, I thought it was an awesome concept.  I have always enjoyed writing and I believed that any company willing to compensate was doing a great thing.  Why not use the resources of intellectual minds to advertise your product or service?  The job of maintaining a blog is not very difficult and allows for flexible hours and attire :)  No uniform necessary!

The beauty of blogging is that it comes from your experiences.  It is so personal because only YOU know what you've been through in life.  If you can make money from offering advice, then why the heck not give it a shot? You don't know how much you could be missing out on unless you try!

Making Money

Being a student in college, money is usually as issue. So many college kids complain about being broke, which is very true. Now that I live in an apartment I go out to eat more, spend tons of money of the weekends and my personal bank account is decreasing very quickly. Now on top of my first midterm starting tomorrow and my trip to NYC next week, I need a job!

My roommate was just hired at Ruby Tuesdays and with 3 girls as your roommates, trips to the mall happen on a weekly basis. It's very hard turning down a shopping trip and iIam stressing out about money. With no car it is hard for me to find job, except for work studies on campus. Minimum wage is $5.00 an hour so I don't know if it will be worth it but I need to figure it out QUICK! With loads of work to do and no money now I need to worry about finding a job too, which was something I never had to worry about my freshman year.
